REV2 Board: Methanol Injection - bootmod3 CustomROM V2
Overview
CustomROM V2 adds support for progressive control of a Methanol/Water injection pump and a meth injection solenoid with independent tables/control for each of them.
In addition, inputs are available to take in a flow sensor signal as well as signal from a tank level sensor.
Due to current load requirements, methanol pump output, should be connected to the REV2 methanol pump output through an automotive relay. If progressive spray is desired then a solid state relay should be used in its place.
Water/Methanol Tables and Activation In Map Editor
To activate the methanol output control, ensure the following activation table is set to 1:
Methanol Tank Level sensor activation can be set to 1 if one is hooked up, otherwise can be left at 0.
Use the following tables to set methanol pump and methanol solenoid duty to the desired values. Typically, you’ll want to set up the methanol pump with a constant value much like a brushed fuel pump with either a 0 or 100% value as its connected to the meth pump through an automotive relay in most cases, kicking off somewhere below you actually want to spray methanol to the motor.
Methanol Solenoid Duty Cycle table can then be set in a progressive way to spray meth based on Boost (Intake Manifold Pressure) vs. Engine RPM as needed.
We don’t recommend using methanol/water injection to supplement fueling. Port Fuel Injection should be used in all cases for complete control of fueling. Ideally, methanol/water injection should only be used for IAT (Intake Ambient Temperature) control when/as required.
