Custom Launch Control via Brake Boost (Automatic Transmission) - bootmod3 CustomROM V2

With CustomROM V2, we’ve also re-imagined and then developed a new custom launch control feature for those with Automatic transmissions that is second to none. We’ve made brake boosting for launch A LOT more intelligent and resolved some issues with DTC codes thrown when brake boosting is done without our changes. Screenshot below shows some of the tables involved in Custom Launch Control with bootmod3 CustomROM V2.

Off-road use only feature.

Using launch control can be hard on drivetrain components and damage may occur. For repeated use especially on sticky surfaces such as the drag strip, it is strongly recommended to upgrade rear axles, in some cases driveshafts and depending on power levels the transmission internals as well.

To configure it, the tuner sets up max vehicle speed for launch control mode, minimum brake pressure and accel pedal % for activation. Once these trigger values are reached launch control activates.

Once activated, Launch Control Engine Speed Limit comes into play. It allows the tuner to set up the engine RPM speed limit based on Boost Pressure (MAP) Target vs Brake Pressure providing for a convenient way to change the launch RPM based on a changing boost target and brake pressure dynamically. Having the engine speed limiter in the torque converter’s stall area brings many advantages when building boost.

We’ve also tied in all of our AntiLag tables and logic but most importantly Ignition Timing Target (Antilag) as well as Lambda Target (Antilag) that allow you to set up ignition timing retard during launch control as well as richen up fuel targets to get the boost building up to desired levels as quickly and efficiently as possible!

Using the Antilag steering wheel trigger button is not necessary for our custom Launch Control to engage. Just brake boost and go.
