REV2 Board: Line Lock - CustomROM V2
Overview
CustomROM V2 provides an additional dedicated output for operating a Line Lock by sending a duty cycle over FlexRay to the REV2 board which in turn operates the required output to provide a ground to the line lock and activate/deactivate it, all while simply using a BC button on the steering wheel and pressing on the brake pedal.
Off-road use only.
WARNING: To use the line lock for burnout, the vehicle should be in RWD mode and traction control off. It is strongly recommended to switch back to AWD and Traction Control back ON for launches and racing.
What is a Line Lock?
A line lock is a device used in vehicles, primarily in drag racing, to control the front or rear brakes independently. It is most commonly used to lock the front brakes while allowing the rear wheels to remain free, enabling specific actions like burnouts or staged launches. Here’s a detailed explanation:
How a Line Lock Works
Installation:
A line lock is an electronically or manually controlled solenoid valve installed in the brake lines.
It is typically placed on the hydraulic line feeding the front brakes.
Operation:
When activated, the line lock holds hydraulic pressure in the front brake lines, keeping the front brakes engaged.
The rear brakes remain unaffected, allowing the rear wheels to spin freely when power is applied to the drivetrain.
Activation:
Ensure vehicle is in Rear Wheel Drive mode
The driver presses and holds the brake pedal to engage all brakes and presses+holds the BC button for a set timer on the steering wheel (typically set up for press+hold time of 1 second)
The line lock is then activated locking the hydraulic pressure in the front brake lines by activating the installed solenoids
The brake pedal is released, and only the front brakes remain engaged while the rear wheels are free to spin.

Deactivation:

Line lock solenoids are disengaged and front brakes release allowing the vehicle to move forward and stage for the run
