REV2 Board: Fuel Pressure Sensor Setup and Calibration - CustomROM V2
Overview
Secondary port fuel injection requires a fuel pressure reference which is used for both the Basic and Advanced strategies.
Below is a screenshot of all tables available for setting up and scaling the Fuel Pressure sensor feedback that is sent over FlexRay to the DME as a raw 0-255 value (0-5v).
LPFP PI Sensor Switch Table
This table can be used to configure which fuel pressure sensor is to be used for Port Injection’s Fuel Pressure Differential calculation. Options available are:
Value of 0: Aftermarket Fuel Pressure Sensor connected to the REV2 sending sensor data from the sensor to the DME
Value of 1: OEM LPFP sensor (if one is available on the vehicle such as the case on the S58 engine vehicles)
Value of 2: Static Fuel Pressure value (no sensor present) - NOT RECOMMENDED
It is always highly recommended to run a fuel pressure regulated fuel feed for PI fuel injectors with a return line, fully separated from the DI feed. As such, an aftermarket fuel pressure should be installed on the PI fuel feed line either at the regulator or as close to/on the secondary fuel rail itself.
LPFP Sensor Static Override
In cases where no fuel pressure sensor is present a static value can be entered for the PI fuel pressure sensor side. We strongly advise against using this option and to always have an actual sensor for fuel pressure in the PI fuel feed line for correct secondary fueling operation.
Below is an example with the value for PI fuel pressure set to 5bar (500kPa) which is OEM LPFP side pressure at high load on most BMWs without an OEM LPFP sensor unless LPFP pump operation is adjusted.
