REV2 Board: Input Sensor Calibration

Overview

REV2 Board takes in 11 sensor inputs, 7 analog and 4 digital.

DME operates and scales all pressure sensors with absolute units and as such absolute pressure sensors are highly recommended for correct calibration. Sealed gauge type sensors should not be used.

Analog (0-5V)

  1. Fuel Pressure Sensor (10bar / 150psi sensor recommended)

  2. Coolant Pressure Sensor (7bar / 100psi sensor recommended)

  3. Nitrous Bottle Pressure Sensor (1600psi sensor recommended)

  4. Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor (10bar / 150psi sensor recommended)

  5. Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensor 1 (K-type thermocouple reading to 1500 C)

  6. Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensor 2 (K-type thermocouple reading to 1500 C)

  7. Methanol Tank Level Sensor (Snow Performance tank level sensor)

Digital

  1. Turbo Speed Sensor (Full Race Turbo Speed Sensor kit)

  2. Methanol Flow Sensor

  3. Ethanol Sensor (Continental Flex Fuel Sensor, or as part of the bootmod3 Flex Fuel Kit)

  4. Laser Ride Height Sensor (LRHS) - (spare logging input, future release)

Inputs need to be calibrated through the bootmod3 Map Editor. Their data is included into various tuning strategies for monitoring, safety and performance.

REV2 Board does not analyze or directly utilize any sensor data. It directly passes raw sensor data to the DME by utilizing the speed and bandwidth of FlexRay with high resolution.

For example, ethanol sensor signal frequency and pulse width are sent as raw values to the DME. Once received by the DME, the DME’s Flex Fuel Analyzer function uses these values to convert them to ethanol % concentration and fuel temperature.

Fuel Pressure Sensor Calibration

Here’s an example fuel pressure sensor calibration for a Honeywell 150psi sensor part number MIPAN2XX150PAAAX.

Laser Ride Height Sensor (LRHS) Calibration (Spare logging input, future use)

Calibrate a laser ride height sensor for monitoring front of the car lift using the following tables. Example values shown are not calibrated for any particular sensor, refer to manufacturer specs!

In a future release we’ll be integrating a wheelie control feature but for now logging is available.

If there is any other sensor you’d like to hook up to the REV2 board for monitoring in the meantime you can use this table to calibrate it and use it as a spare logging input.
